  Abstract:
The Pioneers 10 and 11, spacecrafts deployed to explore the outer solar system, are reported to have experienced a constant anomalous acceleration toward the Sun. We examine if a generic functional of the Riemann-tensor squared can be the cause of the observed Pioneers' anomaly. The Lunar Laser Ranging measurements combined with the Solar GM, the lunar GM from lunar orbiting spacecrafts and the Earth's GM from LAGEOS satellite orbiting the Earth, however, discards such resolution. These measurements also constraint the corrections in the form of a functional of the Riemann tensor's squared to gravity theories, and provide an evidence against the covariant resolution of the anomalous rotational velocity curves of the spiral galaxies without considering dark matter.
