We study a simple tight binding model of Zn impurities in d-wave superconductors. In addition to a change of the site energy on the impurities site our model allows for a change in the hopping integrals between the impurities and the host atoms. We find that the latter gives rise to a shift of spectral weight from the nearestneighbor sites to the impurity site thereby resolving the conflict between interpretation of experiments and previous calculations.
