We formulate the anti-de Sitter black hole in 2+1 dimensions as a Chern Simons guage theory of the anti-de Sitter group coupled to a source on a manifold with boundary. We study the corresponding modified WZW theory on the boundary and obtain its conserved currents. We show that these currents are different from those in the absence of the source.
