Abstract: CMS ECAL records time of hits and our goal is to reconstruct vertices using this information, not information obtained from Tracker or other parts. In ideal situation timing information in CMS ECAL can be used to exactly reconstruct vertices assuming that all particles are traveling with the speed of light and all the vertices are on the Z axis. In reality these two assumptions are almost correct but timing resolution is not good enough to obtain exact result from individual Rechits (recorded hits). We are trying to use timing information from the Rechits of two leading jets in order to reconstruct the most energetic vertex i.e. the vertex that these two jets are coming from. This analysis can be used to identify pile-up jets in high pile-up events and also reconstruct vertices where there is no tracker information available - e.g. very forward regions.
