Abstract

In these lectures several equivalent categories will be introduced, including the category of dessins d'enfants, i.e. certain graphs on oriented surfaces. The corresponding arithmetico-geometric objects are called Belyi pairs. The methods of calculation of Belyi pairs corresponding to a given dessin will be considered.
