Abstract

Langlands Functoriality aims at transferring automorphic representations from one reductive group to another. When proved in general, it has such grand consequences as the Generalized Ramanujan Conjecture, Selberg's Eigenvalue Conjecture, and the Artin Conjecture. The past few years have seen some spectacular new cases of Functoriality proved. These proofs combine the Converse Theorems and certain L-function techniques. In this talk I will give a rough description of Functoriality and comment on the new results towards it.
