| | Siavash Shahshahani is among the 8 individuals selected by The Nominating Committee of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) for leadership positions in that organization. According to the announcement of 4 November 2005 by the 23-member committee, Shahshahani will join two incumbent members of Interim At Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) of ICANN for the Asia/Australia/Pacific region for a term of two years. With a membership of 15, three from each broad geographic region in the world, ALAC represents the interests of individual Internet users around the globe.

Siavash Shahshahani currently heads .IR ccTLD Registry which is operated by IPM. He was the Deputy Director of IPM from its beginning to September 2002.
