 | Karel Vietsch has been the General Secretary of TERENA since 1996. Having studied mathematics, computer science and economics, he obtained his Ph.D.in mathematics from Leiden in 1979. He has been involved in IT policy matters of research and education networking for many years. |

 | Hans Doebbeling was originally trained as an experimental physicist and obtained his Ph.D. in physics from Heidelberg in 1981. Since 1990s he has been involved in providing IT services for scientific research in various fields. He was appointed the General Manager of DANTE in August 2004. |
