Abstract: We study the change in constraint structure of field theories due to non diagonal shape of light cone metric. We show that this change leads to decreasing the number of physical degrees of freedom and consequently the number of independent Schrodinger modes, recognized as the creation and annihilation operators upon quantization. Comparing this results with ordinary coordinates, we give the mathematical reasons behind the differences.
