Physics and Technologies of Normal Conducting High Gradient Cavities

Reaching higher energy in particle linear accelerators needs the higher axial electric field inside the RF cavities. CLIC's goal to reach TeV energy range push him to reach higher gradient field in the level of 100MV/m. Enormous studies and experiments was done to discover the special behavior of cavities in this range and to reduce their breakdown rate. Nowadays, these studies find his own way in other applications like compact free electron lasers, inverse Compton scattering x-ray source, Hadron-therapy and so in.
