Abstract

The goal of this workshop is to introduce the theory of linkage in commutative algebra. A brief history of this theory is reviewed and some developing techniques from the basic to more advanced ones are presented. The workshop consists of the following series of lectures:

1. Linkage
2. Residual Intersection
3. Spectral Sequence and Approximation Complexes
4. Cohen-Macaulay Residual Intersections (Open Problem)
5. Castelnuovo-Mumford Regularity of Residual Intersections.
