| 11:00 - 12:00 Theory weekly seminar (TWS) A New No-Go Theorem on Hidden Variables in Quantum Mechanics School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: In this talk, after a brief reviewing of some important no-go theorems on the possibility of the existence of hidden variables and the limits those theorems put on the structure of the hidden variables, we discuss a thought experiment which suggests that hidden variable theories are not possible, provided that it is always feasible to prepare statistically independent systems as inputs of a definite experiment. This assumption is the only one in the proof and it also seems very legitimate (except when one has any tendency to super-determinism) and, in addition, it is much more weaker than the assumption ... |
