| 09:30 - 11:00 Technical Groups Meeting- Discussion about Beam Diagnostics Group Activities School ILSF List of ILSF Technical Groups Meeting ... 11:00 - 12:00 Wednesday Weekly Seminar - meeting The study of heavy-ion collisions in high energy ranges School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: In this work, we study the heavy-ion collisions in high energy scales. we employ the EMC effect to extract the parton distribution functions (PDF s) inside the Lead (Pb) and Gold (Au) nuclei. Calculated PDFs are used to achieve the transverse momentum dependent (TMD) ones, using the Pythia 8 and MCFM-10 codes. Through this procedure TMDPDFs for charm and bottom quarks in Au at $sqrt{S_{NN}} = 200$ GeV, Pb at $sqrt{S_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV and $sqrt{S_{NN}} = 5.02$ TeV are calculated. To evaluate the validity of results and investigate the influence of nuclear EMC effects, achieved TMDs are used as input to calculate the he ... 11:00 - 12:00 Weekly Seminar Speckle Tweezers and their Applications in Soft Matter School NANO SCIENCES Several fundamental research and applications in biomedicine and micro-fluidics often require controlled manipulation of collection of suspended micro- and nanoscale particles. Speckle tweezers, by incorporating randomly distributed light fields, present an elegant approach for such tasks. They use a very low laser power and simple optics, and are capable to be operated on mixture of various types of particles. In this talk we will introduce speckle tweezers and present some of their exciting aspects and applications. |
