11:00 - 12:00 Journal Club: Experiment & Phenomenology – meeting Collider Magnets for FCC-ee School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: The Future Circular Collider (FCC), is potentially the future new CERN's flagship for high-energy physics. Just like the LHC, the tunnel will initially house a resistive lepton machine called FCC-ee, which will thoroughly study the Z, W, and Higgs bosons. Later on, it will be replaced by a superconducting hadron machine that will explore energy levels of up to 100 TeV center-of-mass. The FCC-ee, with its 90 km circumference, presents several challenges in terms of magnet design. For instance, we need to produce a large number of highly precise magnets at reasonable costs. These magnets must operate in magnetic ... |
