10:00 - 12:30 Weekly Seminar Biological models: articulating what is possible School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES A review of enlightenment philosophy and mathematical modelling to emphasize how evolutionary theory/modelling is in the same tradition. We'll review foundational ideas in evolutionary biology in the light of this history by looking at the concept of the gene. We'll look at the important role of sex allocation theory in establishing evolutionary modelling/theory in general because of how well it satisfied important features of this scientific tradition.
