11:00 - 12:00 Wednesday Weekly Seminar - meeting The effects of the non-evaporable getter thickness on wall impedance in a storage ring. School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: The development of modern particle accelerators with ultra-low emittance has led to the use of Non-Evaporable Getter (NEG)-coated vacuum chambers. The thickness of the NEG coating is a crucial factor in determining the beam dynamic effects. A recent study examines the longitudinal and transverse impedance of a copper chamber coated with a NEG, analyzing the effects of varying NEG thickness over a wide frequency range. The study suggests that the right selection of NEG layer thickness can significantly reduce the coating effects on the longitudinal and transverse beam impedance. The study's numerical results demonstrat ... 13:30 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar Rubin Observatory: From Knowledge and Technology to Enabling Science School ASTRONOMY Rubin Observatory is going to conduct a 10-year survey of the southern sky, The Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). This 8.4-meter telescope with its giant 3200 Megapixel camera will take high resolution images with each image having an area 40 times the area of the moon. LSST will be the widest, fastest, and deepest survey of the night sky, and will change our understanding of the universe. It is now being built in Chile and will see its first light in late 2024. In this talk, I will explain how new technology has been used to accomplish this ambitious survey and will go through some of the tasks the science teams have been long working ... 14:00 - 15:00 Combinatorics and Computing Weekly Seminar Parameterized Tractability of the Isoperimetry Problem School MATHEMATICS The Isoperimetry Problem, as a generalization of the well-studied Sparsest Cut Problem, seeks to cut up a graph into multiple parts giving a low normalized cut value. Being a hard problem, the study of approximability and solvability on special instances is a natural line of research. In this talk we discuss the parameterized tractability and complexity of the max and mean versions of the problem, and present some recent results in this regard. https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83407340293?pwd=cXarB4geUkQrP9MMwe8Z71K94wYPpT.1 Meeting ID : 834 0734 0293 Passcode : 362880 Lecture Hall 1 Venue: Niavaran, ... 15:30 - 17:00 Geometry and Topology Weekly Seminar ???? ???????? ? ????? ?????? ??? ??????? ?? ?????? ??? ???? ??? ??????
