10:00 - 12:00 Weekly Seminar Shadow of real knowledge in stem cell science School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES "Theory of Forms" implies that a genuine version of creatures exists beyond the shapes in this world. Stem cell technology has adopted developmental cues to mimic real life. However, the functionality of the lab-made cells is far from primary ones. Perhaps it is time to switch from analytical to systematic perspective in stem cell science. This may be the way to define new horizons based on the systematic perspective and convergence of science in stem cell biology, bridging the current gap between the shadows of real knowledge in current research and reality in future. This Seminar is free and open to the public 11:00 - 12:00 Theory weekly seminar (TWS) Renormalization group flow and holography School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: I will review, in some detail, the various derivations of the exact renormalization group equation. Then if there is time I will discuss the holographic dual of the equation. Meeting Place: Seminar Room, School of Particles and Accelerators, IPM Link to Join Virtually: https://meet.google.com/fnv-dfkk-ghb ... 13:30 - 15:30 Lecture Decoding Modular Forms... School MATHEMATICS you can see the abstract of the lecture by clicking here. Venue: Niavaran, Lecture Hall 1 ... 14:30 - 16:00 Commutative Algebra Webinar The Bourbaki Degree of Projective Plane Curves School MATHEMATICS We introduce a new invariant for projective plane curves so called Bourbaki degree that captures some important geometric and algebraic features of the curve, namely its singularities and the lowest degree of a syzygy for its gradient ideal. This not only simplifies the proofs of some known results but also provides a new way to classify projective plane curves based on the behavior of this numerical invariant.
