14:30 - 16:00 Commutative Algebra Webinar An Algebraic Study of Bir(X) School MATHEMATICS Let be a projective variety. In this talk, we explain some of the difficulties of studying the group of birational maps over in comparison with those over . We define the concept of birational maps of clear polynomial degree over an arbitrary projective variety. We show how to replace classical techniques such as the Jacobian criterion with commutative algebraic counterparts such as analytic spread and Hilbert functions that provide facilities to study in full generality. We show that the loci of ideals in the principal class, ideals of grade at least two, and ideals of maximal analytic spread are Zariski open sets in the parameter s ... 15:00 - 17:00 Journal Club - Cognitive Neuroscience Brain phenotype models fail for individuals who defy sample stereotypes School COGNITIVE SCIENCES Based on: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-022-05118-w Meeting Place: Seminar Room, School of Cognitive Sciences, IPM |
