| 11:00 - 12:00 Theory weekly seminar (TWS) Magnetic Models of Opinion Formation School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: Theories have been proposed to predict the formation of beliefs in society. We use a specific model of statistical physics for this purpose. The results may not align with reality, but interesting interpretations can be offered. In this lecture, we present and discuss the random field Ising model and the Blume-Capel model.
