13:30 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar (Online) Seven hints that early-time new physics alone is not sufficient to solve the Hubble tension https://www.skyroom.online/ch/soa/weekly-se School ASTRONOMY It appears by now established that solving the Hubble tension requires new physics operating at early times, i.e. prior to recombination. But is that really the end of the story? Based on Miller's law (which states that the number of objects the average person can hold in working memory is about seven), I will present seven independent hints pointing towards the fact that the Hubble tension requires more than just early-time new physics, and will discuss my personal thoughts about what the most promising scenarios might be moving forward (also keeping in mind the potential tension in S8). ... 17:00 - 18:00 Wednesday Weekly Seminar - meeting Decay of oscillating scalar field minimally coupled to gravity School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: An oscillating inflaton field induces small amplitude oscillations of the Hubble parameter at the end of inflation. These Hubble parameter-induced oscillations, in turn, trigger parametric particle production of all light fields, even if they are not directly coupled to the inflaton. This effect can be used to explain the higgs field production during reheating for the first time. I will discuss some important aspects of this dissipation effect for inflation and axion light particles. Indico Link https://indico.hep.ipm.ir/e/v.kamali Link to join the webinar: ... |
