| 11:00 - 12:00 Journal Club: Experiment & Phenomenology - google meet An overview on AWAKE-The First Advanced Proton Driven Plasma Wakefield Acceleration Experiment School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS Abstract: AWAKE is a proton-driven plasma wakefield acceleration experiment at CERN. In this experiment, it is used of the high energy proton beams produced by current proton synchrotron (SPS) that is capable of producing high energy protons, reaching up to multi TeVs. The AWAKE experiment use proton bunches for the ?rst time ever to drive plasma wake?elds. In RUN 1 of AWAKE, the first protons to the experiment were delivered at the end of 2016. The significant results of RUN1 were seeded self-modulation of the proton bunch and acceleration of externally injected electrons.
