11:00 - 13:00 Commutative Algebra Seminar On the Type of Simplicial Affine Semigroups School MATHEMATICS We provide a generalization of pseudo-Frobenius numbers of numerical semigroups to the context of the simplicial affine semigroups. In this way, we characterize the Cohen-Macaulay type of the simplicial affine semigroup ring $mathbb{K}[S]$. We define the type of $S$, ${ m{type}}(S)$, in terms of some Apery sets of $S$ and show that it coincides with the Cohen-Macaulay type of the semigroup ring, when $mathbb{K}[S]$ is Cohen-Macaulay. If $mathbb{K}[S]$ is a $d$-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay ring of embedding dimension at most $d+2$, then ${ m{type}}(S)leq 2$. Otherwise, ${ m{type}}(S)$ might be arbitrary large and it has no upper bound i ... 11:00 - 12:30 Weekly Webinar Reshaping of activity-connectivity patterns by spike-timing-dependent plasticity:Implications for therapeutic brain stimulation in Parkinson‘s disease School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Cardiomyopathies are a group of common heart disorders that affect numerous people worldwide. Left ventricular non-compaction (LVNC) is a structural disorder of the ventricular wall, categorized as a type of cardiomyopathy that mostly caused by genetic disorders . Genetic variations are underlying causes of developmental deformation of the heart wall and the resultant contractile insufficiency. Here, we investigated a family with several affected members exhibiting LVNC phenotype. By whole-exome sequencing (WES) of three affected members, we identified a novel heterozygous missense variant (c.1963C>A: ... |
