11:00 - 12:00 Weekly Webinar Modelling the spread of the coronavirus School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES The novel coronavirus that has been detected in China since January 7, 2020, has spread at an unprecedented rate to all countries around the world. In this lecture, we take a look at combinatorial models of epidemics that model how viruses spread among living organisms by mathematics and specifically graph theory; and then go over the biological results of the corresponding simulations on the impact of quarantine and social distancing. In this regard, we will discuss a very important random process in discrete mathematics called random walk, and after modeling daily urban transportation in different scenarios by graphs, the implications of th ... |
