13:30 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar (Online) Mimetic inflations https://www.skyroom.online/ch/soa/weekly-seminar School ASTRONOMY Abstract In this talk, I will review our recent works on mimetic scenario. The mimetic model suffers from the ghost and the gradient instabilities. To remedy these issues, direct couplings of higher derivative terms to the curvature tensor can be considered. In this respect, we recently obtain the inflationary solution in the healthy setup of the mimetic gravity. While testing these scenarios is experimentally challenging, they are strongly motivated by the accidental stability of dark baryons and pions, that explain the cosmological stability of dark matter (DM). We study the production of these sectors which are minimally populated through gravitational freeze-in, leading to a dark sector temperature much lower than the SM, or through inflaton decay, or renormalizable interactions producing warmer DM. Despite having only gra ... 14:00 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar The interaction of light and hybrid chiral quantum dot-dielectric nanoparticle systems School NANO SCIENCES Many studies are devoted to the interaction of light and matter. First I remind some basic points such as light scattering, optical activity, and circular dichroism. Then I introduce recent works of our group on hybrid chiral quantum dot-dielectric nanoparticle systems. 16:00 - 17:00 Quantum Computing & Quantum Information Monthly Seminar Capacities of Gaussian Quantum Channels with Passive Environment Assistance School NANO SCIENCES Passive environment assisted communication takes place via a quantum channel modeled as a unitary interaction between the information carrying system and an environment, where the latter is controlled by a passive helper, who can set its initial state such as to assist sender and receiver, but not help actively by adjusting her behaviour depending on the message. Here we investigate the information transmission capabilities in this framework by considering Gaussian unitaries acting on Bosonic systems. In the search for cases where the capacity formula is computable, we look for Gaussian unitaries that are universally degradable or anti-degrad ... |
