14:00 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Group Coherence Based Characterization of Macroscopic Quantumness School PHYSICS Abstract: One of the most elusive problems in quantum mechanics is the transition between classical and quantum physics. This problem can be traced back to the Schrodinger's cat which in the past two decades, started to attract a lot of attention. A key element that lies at the center of this problem is the lack of a clear understanding and characterization of macroscopic quantum states. There are extreme states such as the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger(GHZ) that are believed to be macroscopic quantum states and these states form our understanding and intuition about macroscopic quantumness. Except for a few exceptions, most cha ... 14:00 - 15:00 Weekly Webinar Coherence Based Characterization of Macroscopic Quantumness School NANO SCIENCES Coherence Based Characterization of Macroscopic Quantumness Abstract: One of the most elusive problems in quantum mechanics is the transition between classical and quantum physics.
