11:00 - 13:00 Theoretical Neuroscience Journal Club Single neurons may encode simultaneous stimuli by switching between activity patterns School COGNITIVE SCIENCES Venue: School of Cognitive Sciences, Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), Opposite the ARAJ, Artesh Highway, Tehran, Iran ... 12:15 - 13:30 Analysis Seminar Nonpure Analysis, Topology, Geometry, Dynamical Systems, Mechanics and Field Theory School MATHEMATICS As one day we extended the system of integer numbers $mathbb{Z}^n$ to noninteger numbers $mathbb{R}^n$ in order to be able to solve equations $F(x) = 0$ like $x^2-2=0$, quantum mechanics teaches us that we must again extend the system of numbers this time from the space of pure numbers $mathbb{R}^n$ to nonpure numbers again for solving some equations $F(x) = 0$. In these successive talks we define the space of nonpure numbers and reconstruct all analysis, topology, geometry, dynamical system, mechanics and field theory on this space. This theory also fits very well with the Connes's noncommutative geometry, for example cyclic coho ... 13:30 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar The balance of cooling and heating in galaxy cluster core School ASTRONOMY The discrepancy between expected and observed cooling rates of X-ray emitting gas has led to the cooling flow problem at the cores of clusters of galaxies. A variety of models have been proposed to model the observed X-ray spectra and resolve the cooling flow problem, which involves heating the cold gas through different mechanisms. As a result, realistic models of X-ray spectra of galaxy clusters need to involve both heating and cooling mechanisms. In this presentation, we argue that the heating time-scale is set by the magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) turbulent viscous heating for the intracluster plasma. As a result in the first part of the talk ... 14:00 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar Nanostructures application for pollutants photocatalytic degradation and/or construction of biosensors School NANO SCIENCES Nanostructures application for pollutants photocatalytic degradation and/or construction of biosensors In the recent years, development of new porous materials having the ability of hydrogen sorption, has been the main purpose of many studies. Hydrogen is identified as an ideal fuel for energy conversion because of important advantages such as high efficiency, abundance supply, renewability, high gravimetric energy density and its role in the reduction of air pollution. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with unique physical and chemical properties instancing impressive chemical stability high, specific surface area, high mechanical ab ... 15:00 - 16:00 Weekly Seminar Black hole and quantum information School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS I will review briefly the history of black hole physics and holographic approaches to quantum information. Then I will talk about recent developments in these field and finally I will review our recent results on holographic complexity in anisotropic black brains. Larak Seminar Room 16:00 - 18:00 Neuroimaging Journal Club Hierarchy of transcriptomic specialization across human cortex captured by structural neuroimaging topography School COGNITIVE SCIENCES Venue: School of Cognitive Sciences, Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), Opposite the ARAJ, Artesh Highway, Tehran, Iran ... 16:00 - 17:00 Mathematics Colloquium Model Theory of Valued Fields and Applications in Algebra and Number Theory School MATHEMATICS I will explain how model theory, combined with algebraic geometry, can have applications to groups, zeta functions, and counting problems in number theory. ... |
