Abstract

In this talk some basic ideas involved in the theory of the Chow ring and Intersection Theory are introduced. Some fundamental theorems and their demonstration through examples will be presented. This lecture is intended as an introduction to a more detailed series of lectures on Intersection Theory tentatively scheduled for next winter.
