Time:15:30

Abstract:
Gravitational waves are predicted in the general theory of relativity. In this talk, the question of existence and detection of these waves will be addressed. Furthermore, the motion of classical spinning particles in a gravitational field will be discussed and their trajectories computed. It will be argued whether the computation of these trajectories can be employed as a method to detect the gravitational waves.
