Function Spaces on Locally Compact Quantum Groups

School
MATHEMATICS

In this talk we review preliminiars of locally compact quantum groups from harmonic analysis prespective. Then we define function spaces $ap(L^1(mathbb{G}))$, $wap(L^1(mathbb{G}))$ and $luc(L^1(mathbb{G}))$ on locally compact quantum group $mathbb{G}$ and characterize them in the language of locally compact quantum groups. Classically, $ap(G)$, $wap(G)$ and $luc(G)$ are $m-$admissible $C^*-$algebra. We also attempt to find conditions that force these function spaces to be $C^*-$algebra. In this direction, we characterize the biggest $C^*-$algebra inside $wap(L^1(mathbb{G}))$ and find a mild condition with which $luc(L^1(mathbb{G}))$ is a $C^ ...

Plasmons at the LAO/STO interface and in the
graphene-LAO/STO double layer

Abstract:

The discovery of two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) at the interface between two band insulators LaAlO3(LAO) and SrTiO3(STO), has attracted considerable attention in recent years. Electrons at the interfaces with partially occupied d orbitals interact with each other and with the lattice. This gives rise to wide electronic properties, such as conductivity, superconductivity, and magnetism. More interestingly, decoupled structures combining graphene with LAO/STO junctions represent an exciting platform in which novel ...

Same-sign top pair plusWproduction in flavor changing vector and scalar models

PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

The standard model (SM) of particle physics does not have answers to all observations. Thus, SM is not complete and we need to go beyond SM (BSM). The LHC is a promising tool to explore plenty of BSMs and in some cases it is the only tool we have. In this talk, I will discuss same sign tops channel at the LHC. Our results show that flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC) between up-type quarks and top quark could be constrained using same sing tops channel. In addition, I will mention new observable which we have invented to further discriminate signal from background in FCNC models.
