14:00 - 16:00 Weekly Seminar Modelling mouse primary visual cortex School COGNITIVE SCIENCES Abstract: Mouse visual cortex (V1) is emerging as an interesting system to study visual processing. Many striking similar functions, originally discovered and described in higher mammals like cats and monkeys are being reported in mouse V1. Moreover, a plethora of observational and perturbative techniques (like optogenetics) is becoming increasingly available here, providing experimental tools to tease apart the underlying mechanistic circuitry of visual functions more flexibly. Equally important in this endeavour is to develop realistic models of cortical networks enabling such functional properties, and to eventually test the predic ... |
