Energy consumption analysis in 2D materials

It is commonly believed that the significant advantages are belonged to the logic circuits which operate at low temperature. Also, nanoscale thermal management, efficient energy usage in nanoscale and especially thermal optimization are the most challenging issues, while dealing with the new generation of transistors as the miniaturizing unlimitedly the silicon channels of the transistors has resulted in an increase in the energy consumption of computers and the leakage currents. In this paper, the non-Fourier thermal attitudes of well-known two-dimensional crystalline materials o ...

Dynamics of Strongly Coupled Systems within Holography

School
PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS

In this talk I will show the dynamics of holographic systems in strongly coupled limit at both linear and non-linear regimes. In particular I will focus on a system with 1st order phase transition and I will show you how a mixed state can be the end point of the time evolution. To this aim, I use the dual gravity set up and I solve numerically the time dependent Einstein equations associated to the evolution of black holes.

Topological Dynamics in Low Dimensions

MATHEMATICS

The dynamics of surface homeomorphism has witnessed a great development in recent years. Starting from some classical questions in dynamical systems, we will review the importance of the topological approach to the problems. In this talk, a central role is played by the remarkable concept of rotation number, introduced by H. Poincare a century ago. ...
