"Registration is closed" School COGNITIVE SCIENCES * To join the mailing list: Send an empty email to: scs at ipm dot ir on the subject of: #join scs-seminar-list * Telegram: https://telegram.me/SCS_IPM 13:30 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar Entanglement Entropy in holographic framework School ASTRONOMY In this talk, first we will introduce the AdS/CFT correspondence and its application on the quantum information especially, entanglement entropy quantity. After that we will show how to obtain the entanglement entropy for the generalized charged BTZ black hole through the AdS3/CFT2 correspondence. Using the holographic description of the entanglement entropy for the strip-subsystem in boundary CFT2, we will find the first law-like relation between the variation of holographic entanglement entropy and the variation of energy of the subsystem in terms of the mass and the electric charge up to the second order. ... 14:00 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Group Digital holography for noninvasive 3D visualization of biomaterials School PHYSICS Farmanieh Seminar Room ... 14:00 - 15:00 Weekly Seminar Digital holography for noninvasive 3D visualization of biomaterials School NANO SCIENCES Digital holography for noninvasive 3D visualization of biomaterials Most of biology specimens, in particular living cells, are transparent and differ only slightly from their surroundings in terms of the amplitude of the light wave. Digital holographic microscopy (DHM), in a transmission mode, provides a noninvasive and quantitative phase contrast imaging, suitable for high resolving investigations of biomaterials. It works based on recording the holograms by digital image sensors followed by their numerical reconstruction. On the other hand, for many applications the immobilization ... 15:00 - 16:00 Weekly Seminar WIMP search in the DarkSide experiment School PARTICLES AND ACCELERATORS In this talk I will explain the DarkSide-50 experiment, the most important program for the INFN search of dark matter. The talk will mostly cover the techniques used to detect WIMP particles. DarkSide-20k, the next step for Dark Matter search will be introduced, afterwards. At the end, my contribution to the PhotoElectronics section of the DS-20k technical proposal will be briefly described. ... 16:00 - 17:00 Colloquium Seminar Life in Active Motion: A Soft Matter perspective School NANO SCIENCES Life in Active Motion: A Soft Matter perspective Life, as we know it, represents a complex, robust and, at the same time, an extremely fine-tuned organization of molecules and molecular processes that make use of stored and/or ambient free energy to drive themselves into a hierarchy of nonequilibrium spatiotemporal forms known as the living matter. While the most basic questions concerning the origin of life and the emergence of its more complex forms (including multicellularity and, eventually, consciousness) still remain unanswered, contemporary advances in molecular and cellular biology have amassed into a substantial bod ... |
