10:00 - 11:00 Weekly Seminar Curse of Dimensionality in Structural Space of an intrinsically disordered protein School BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Traditional approaches in analysis of structure-function relationships is now re-assessed by recognizing intrinsically disordered proteins as important players in many biological processes. These proteins have no unique well-defined stable 3D structure and a realistic representation of their structural states is a massively large ensemble of conformations. In this lecture, we will discuss new challenges that are introduced to the structural biology and bioinformatics for characterization of intrinsically disordered proteins. Even in the case of ordered globular proteins, the complexity that emerges from numerous degrees of freedom enforces co ... |
